John Bodenheimer
President of Los Chavez Animal Rescue

My name is John M. Bodenheimer. I am the president and founder of Los Chavez Animal Rescue.  I am 7 foot 3 inches tall, many refer me as Gentle Giant and St. Francis, Guadian Angel to many pets who come here.

Our Mission Statement:
LCAR is a no-kill organization. To prevent our organization from becoming overcrowded, we simply set a limit to the number of felines we accept, until a suitable number of cats are adopted to make room for more unwanted pets. The animals LCAR rescues are kept indefinitely in the facility until permanent, qualified homes are found. All pets are given a vet check and sterilized to prevent further over-population of pets. However, due to lack of funding, LCAR can only take animals on a room-available basis! We do not board animals; we are not a kennel facility and do not overload our placement facility. We need commitment and time from you too. That is why your help is needed NOW. Your financial contribution is greatly needed and much appreciated. Contributions are tax deductible. If you would like to make a donation to help support the many homeless animals we care for, please mail a contribution to help. We had to temporarily close our doors due to lack of funding and donations, so please help us to remain in operation. Last year alone (2001), over 5000 unwanted dogs and cats were euthanized in Valencia County.
